Accents Lounge: The Ultimate Chillout Spot

0

Accents is one of a rare few Dublin cafes that open late into the night, making it an excellent alternative to the pub.

The ground floor is a busy hub of activity, with shoppers and local traders grabbing take away Mathew Algie coffee. Cakes from artisan suppliers and bagels are on display, and there is a collection of books for customers to borrow.

Venture downstairs and you’ll quickly understand why Accents refers to itself as a lounge: bean bags, comfy couches, board games and relaxing music make this the ultimate chill out zone. A large wall map studded with pins is a testament to the international crowd the venue attracts.
Owners Deirdre and Donal are very supportive of local students (there are a number of colleges close by) and community groups; you might stumble upon a comedy, music or storytelling event in the basement space. Knitting club meet at 12pm on saturdays.
With excellent wifi and various power points throughout, this is the perfect place to do some college work or catch up on your emails. Be sure to try one Accents’ famed hot chocolates – steamed milk with quality Belgian chocolate buttons on the side.
