Last week saw the opening of a brand new bar on Meath St, in Dublin’s historic Liberties area. In addition to serving tasty craft beers, the venue will give a second home to the hugely popular Coke Lane Pizza.
The pub is owned by three friends: John Mahon, Simon Conway and Barry O’Donoghue, whose names you might recognise from Bodytonic parties or their other projects including The Beatyard, The Locals and Telephones.
“Lucky’s will be a cafe bar early in the day, quietly ramping up as the night goes on with some funky tunes,” said the owner of Coke Lane Pizza, Davy Holmes.
His Neapolitan-style pizza has gained a steady following for itself at its first location in Smithfield, which continues to get busier every week.
“I’m excited for the challenge ahead, and looking forward to having the absolute craic, experimenting with pizza and making people happy”, he added.
You’ll find Davy and his crew working their magic in and around the stone oven in the back section of Lucky’s (78 Meath Street, Dublin 8) from 5 ’til 11 pm, 7 days a week.
They’re also located behind Frank Ryan’s Pub, in Smithfield from Thursday to Saturday, 6 until 11 pm.
