A mainstay on the Dublin dining scene since 1986, Cornucopia has seen trends come and go but stayed true to its mission: making food that is both healthy and tasty.
Returning from a nine-year stint in Boston, husband and wife duo Neil and Dierdre McCafferty wanted to start a business inspired by the people and places they encountered on their travels. Cornucopia (literally a ‘Horn of Plenty’) still occupies the same space where it began life as wholefoods shop which served vegetarian food. sWhile now solely a restaurant, it has since expanded into the unit next door, (ironically) a former fur shop.
While the menu may be a 90% vegan – fear not – the cafe operates a strict ‘no preaching’ policy and preferring to let the food do the talking. Breakfast runs until midday when it gives way to lunch. Food is served canteen-style service.
Imbibe roasters are Ireland’s only supplier of speciality grade Fairtrade, Organic and Rainforest Alliance certified coffee, so it seems fitting that this was the choice for the cafe.
