Dublin cafe-goers will be happy to learn that much of the suppliers used in many of their favourite dishes are registered members of Origin Green. Popular venues favourites such as The Happy Pear and Dublin Cookie Company are also on board, and each year the list is growing beyond all expectations.
Origin Green works with companies to create a comprehensive and challenging five-year plan committing to sustainability improvements that are relevant to the individual business.
The most recent report from An Bord Bia confirms that good things are happing all across the Irish food sector. Some companies have been busy innovating to reduce landfill waste, while others are creating clever ways to harness rainwater.
The report outlines an ambitious plan to for the Emerald Isle to have the lowest environmental footprint in Europe (at farm level), in the coming years. You can read the report in full here.

In an inspiring call-to-action video, Irish American actress Saoirse Ronan outlines our commitment to the sustainability via the ‘Origin Green‘ pledge and calls for Irish producers to get on board. To date a total of 553 companies have signed up for the Programme.
