Vanessa Power, is a sign painter based in Dublin that specialises in traditional hand-painted signs. Dublin cafe-goers will recognise her ‘Signs of Power’ artwork from some of the city’s most popular new cafes – Two Boys Brew, Meet Me in the Morning, Fia, and Gaillot et Gray to name a few.

Previously working in multi media programming, Vanessa decided in 2014 that the time was right to join a small but growing number of artists reviving the lost craft of sign painting. With a penchant for clean typography, and inspiration from artists like Josh Luke and Jeff Canham, she has been putting her own stamp on shop fascia across Dublin ever since. Such is the acclaim of ‘Signs of Power’, that Vanessa been commissioned to paint for Guinness, Jameson and the offices of Facebook and Twitter.
Dublin has a long history with hand painted shopfronts and work vehicles, but the art form has fallen out of favour in recent decades. However, many smaller businesses are now choosing traditional signage as it portrays an appreciation for fine craftsmanship.
