Super Miss Sue Is Closing After Four Years

The news has broken recently that Drury Street’s Sue Miss Sue will serve its last meals on January 6th, 2018.

The popular restaurant-meets-chip-shop is widely recognised as having the best fish and chips in Dublin and has gained a steady following for it’s “Moby Dick’ and ‘Moby Chick’ burgers.

Owner John Farrell made the following announcement via Facebook

“Thank you, everyone, for your loving messages about our news. Yes we are closing and we will miss you all, but there are bright things on the horizon! Please do come see us before we go on the 6th Jan.”

Farrell is the proprietor of a number of highly successful eateries around town including 777, The Butcher’s Grill and neighbouring Luna, (which will remain open).

The reason for closing remains unclear but what we do know is that “new things” are coming.

SMS is named after an Italian migrant couple who opened Dublin’s first ever fish and chip shop on Pearse Street in the 1880s.
