Dublin’s cafe goers may have noticed a distinct look at Ranelagh’s Groove Road or Two Boys Brew, in Phibsborough, but Terry Design has been kitting out stylish venues across Northern Ireland and London for years now.

Terry refers to itself as “a group of craftspeople, joiners, designers and problem solvers.” It works with design companies, architects, project managers and homeowners to create everything from interiors to one-off pieces of furniture.
Thomas McDonagh, a designer and manufacturer of good quality, traditional furniture, started the business in the late 1800’s. In 2008 his grandsons, Terry and Ross, rebranded the family business as Terry Design. Playing to it’s strengths of designing, crafting, making and finishing to extremely high standards, the company has been making its mark on the local and international design and architecture scene.
Such is Terry’s acclaim that it was selected to build the table for the 2013 G8 summit, held in Co. Fermanagh. The team worked with architect Nigel Murray and former UK Prime Minister, David Cameron, to design the round table, which was based on the hearth at the centre of neolithic Irish homes – a traditional a gathering point. It now resides in No.10 Downing St.
While it has come to be known for the industrial and reclaimed look, the Terry portfolio caters to many different tastes and types of clients, working closely with them in implementing their vision. This can be seen at the workshop and extensive showrooms in Portadown, Northern Ireland, where visitors are welcome.
