New kid on the Dublin foodie block, Vurgerface, will occupy a corner of Stoneybatter’s Belfry pub to serve up a range of vegan burgers. But for a limited time only.
It’s the first venture from graphic designer and chef Sarah Boland, who spotted a gap in the Irish market for quality vegan food whilst travelling around the world earlier this year.
“I was on my travels and thought: that’s it, I’m going to come home and I’m gonna go full steam ahead, she tells The Feed. Her mission to serve high quality, Irish-sourced, plant-based food in a fun and innovative environment.
“I live in Stoneybatter. The Belfry is my local bar. We struck up a friendship and now, here we are. The guys have done an amazing job on the interior and the cocktails are pretty good too. You will find Vurgerface in the beer garden, which opens out into the main street”, says Boland on why the venue was chosen.
With three different burgers, a mac ‘n cheese and ‘skin-on fries’ (all plant-based), there is something there for all; a sentiment the team feels strongly about.
“We want to welcome everybody through the door – herbivores, carnivores, flexitarians, vegetarians, vegans, etc”
