Wall and Keogh: A Haven for Tea Enthusiasts

When it opened 2010, this was the first tea shop of it’s kind in Ireland – offering users a chance to see and smell each blend before buying. Building a cafe around the retail counter took it one step further, giving shoppers a chance to sample the teas on site. Wall and Keogh is now the foremost supplier of quality teas to venues across Dublin.

Once a wallpaper shop run by the Keogh family, the building had been derelict for over twenty years, until the shopfront was restored and the name given a new lease of life. With collected vintage furniture and up-cycled wood, the décor preserves the building’s charm, and has a homely feel.
For sunny days there’s a tranquil courtyard space at the rear, or there’s a lounge area in the basement – perfect for reading a book or getting some laptop work done. Upbeat, funky music provides a throwback to owner Oliver Cunningham’s DJ past. Food is available too: cakes, sandwiches and other treats, with gluten free options.
Coffee drinkers can chose from the house special (roasted with vanilla pods) or ‘Kaleidoscope’ – a three bean blend from Imbibe Roasters. But of course, the focus here is on tea, with over 150 types to try both in store or at home.
